MonsterUp remains Trial after purchase glitch – update

karios Posted on 16 years ago 2 minutes read

There seems to be a small number of people having a problem purchasing MonsterUp in the Marketplace. More specifically, after purchasing the game, they end up with the trial version again. This seems to be a general issue with many apps on the marketplace (including IMDB) as mentioned in these forums posts:

A solution that seems to work for some people is described below. If you are facing this issue, please try following these steps and let us know how it went by sending us an email to email@kariosgames.com:

“For the symptoms you are describing, I would suggest the following steps:

  • Delete the app from the Phone by tapping and holding on the app and then tapping “delete”.
  • Go back to Marketplace and reinstall the app.

If that doesn’t work:

  • Turn off the phone, remove the battery for 30  – 60 seconds, replace the battery and restart the phone. Removing the battery may not be absolutely necessary but I don’t want to tell you to try it later :)
  • Repeat the first 2 steps above.”

We are currently feeding Microsoft with any information we have regarding this problem, and hopefully they can pinpoint the source and include a fix in the upcoming OS update or in an update to the Marketplace App/infrustructure.

We will keep you posted if we find out anything else about this issue, we are sorry for the inconvinience, even though most likely there is not much we can do about it.

update – following a quick survey and a little research on the net, it seems like the problem is focused only on HTC phones. all of the users for MonsterUp who reported a problem own an HTC phone (and specifically an HTC HD7) and it seems like this is the case on several forum posts as well.
